We want to have a regular pulse of Bible reading & prayer happening throughout the church

RHYTHMs: BIBLE READING & PRAYER PLANS LAUNCHED

The first of our RHYTHMs of a healthy disciple is "Regularly in the word and prayer".

We all need encouragement to engage with the Bible and in prayer throughout the week.

We can't just rely on being 'fed' by others when we meet on a Sunday or going to training courses.

A mature disciple is one who is learning to feed themselves with the word of God and learning how to apply it in their everyday lives.

We want to have a regular pulse of Bible reading and prayer happening throughout the church.

Engaging with this practice is one way to be 'part' of Cornerstone City Church.

It starts by adopting a daily, weekly and monthly RHYTHM of doing this, but having the encouragement of others doing the same is of great support, rather like friends who go to the gym each week and post their experiences, feedback and tips on Facebook.

This means aiming for a daily RHYTHM where you can:

  1. Pray for...
    • Personal (own issues, needs & family)
    • Church (situations, needs & people such as those in your DNA group or MC)
    • World (UK & other nations, salvation of others)
  2. Read the Bible, perhaps using the church Bible Reading plan.  You can find a downloadable version of the plan HERE and more about Robert Murray Mccheyne HERE and many more printable resources HERE including calendars for following the adjusted version over 2 years alongside the DA Carson commentary below.
  3. Read an accompanying commentary
  4. Meditating on and memorising scripture using the Fighter Verses

Come along on Sunday mornings to hear more about this and how you can take part or see our RHYTHM section for more info.
