The Jasper Centre
Kent, ME1 2LD
Caring Hands started out as a department of King's Church Medway, but now serves the wider community on a daily basis, engaged in bringing hope and relief to those most vulnerable in Medway.
The Caring Hands day centre facilities offer assistance with basic computer training, advocacy, Jobsearch, CVs and Benefit Assessments to name but some of a long list of services.
Caring Hands house a general medical practice complete with a doctor and a nurse. They also have professional substance misuse counsellors come in to assist those who find themselves trapped amidst the horror of addiction, which affords them the opportunity to break free and live a healthy life again.
Caring Hands seek to help people rise above their past circumstances and reach forward to a much brighter future, helping others to help themselves. Caring Hands in the Community isn't to be seen as a hand out, but as a hand UP!
Caring Hands in the Community is conveniently located at the heart of Chatham town centre and their location is one of the key benefits to the number of successes they have enjoyed since their inception.
They are a resource for all those who are registered, with provisions available for housing, job searches, counselling and rehabilitation help for those in the chains of addiction.
For the wider area, Caring Hands in the Community is able to provide training for employees, and they've seen many other churches and established bodies come through their doors to learn how to work with marginalised groups, whose needs are wide and varied, and to be a resource themselves.
As their logo suggests, Caring Hands is about giving a hand up, not just a hand out, and their team dedicate the time that they give in helping their clients.
The Caring Hands staff and volunteers are sensitive to the needs of those who come through their doors, aware that each one is different. You cannot deal with each person the same way. They offer a listening ear, which can turn into the rehabilitation of a life situation that has been with someone for years.
You too can be a helping hand in your community, so please contact the Caring Hands team at the day centre if you would like to know more about volunteering with Caring Hands via their website (link below)#caringhands
